About quartz
Quartz countertops are made from crushed natural quartz bound with resin and pigment. Because the slab is manufactured, the colour and pattern stay consistent from one end to the other, which makes it easy to match long runs, islands and backsplashes.
Quartz is non-porous, so it doesn’t need sealing and it resists stains from coffee, wine, oil and juice. That makes it the most popular choice for family kitchens, rentals and anyone who wants a surface they don’t have to think about.

Caring for your quartz
- Wipe daily with warm water and mild dish soap.
- Use trivets for hot pots and pans. Resin can discolour under direct high heat.
- Avoid harsh chemicals such as oven cleaner or bleach.
- Use cutting boards to protect the finish.
Quartz questions
It handles normal kitchen use well, but the resin can scorch under a very hot pan. Always use a trivet.
We don’t recommend it. UV light can fade most quartz over time. Porcelain is a better outdoor choice.
Many quartz colours are designed with marble-style veining, giving you the look without the sealing and etching.
